Silly yet slightly scientific, this app playfully introduces sets of multiple-choice school readiness exercises with NASA facts and footage about the planets.

As with previous "Grandma" apps from FairLady Media, there's a lot of fast-paced drill that have little to do with space travel, other than they are called "Alien Games." Because these can be toggled on or off and they offer both reading and math skill practice, it is possible to customize this app as either a reading or math readiness enrichment activity, with solid dose of NASA content.

Content includes ten mini-games and 18 videos, each well leveled for early elementary children. Activities let you mix and match rocket parts, add whole numbers, count by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, or 10’s, sort space trash by size or height, rhyming words, opposites, shape matching and concentration. There's no record keeping, and while children earn souvenir prizes for completing missions, we couldn't find where they are saved. The background music loops too much, as do Grandpa's prompts to keep moving.

The bottom line? This app offers plenty to do, and is well leveled. It would work well in a home setting.
